Liga Mayor top team -Batanecas (6-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked LMMR 2 (4-4) in Santa Ana 58-53 . Batanecas held LMMR 2 to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded LMMR 2 56-44 including 16 on the offensive glass. Batanecas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Cuban swingman Maria Montero (176-1998) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Point guard Maritza Munguia (150-2008) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Cuban center Enriqueta Neyra (186-1997) added 6 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for LMMR 2. Batanecas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Despite that victory Batanecas went down to second position due to points difference. LMMR 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with four games lost.
